New Rimfire Series Rifles from MasterPiece Arms

As more and more competitors become aware of how fun it is to shoot a precision rimfire rifle, the choices keep on growing. MasterPiece Arms (MPA) has partnered with Curtis Custom to release conversion kits and new Rimfire Series Rifles. The new series will be available in both the Matrix Pro and ESR Chassis, MPA//Curtis Action, Curtis Rimfire Bolt, Custom MPA Heavy Barrel Profile, ATS Barrel Tuner and Vudoo Rimfire Magazines.

The ESR Rimfire Rifle (top picture) costs $2,999 and uses the MPA/Spencer 416R hand-lapped barrels. The Matrix Pro Rimfire Rifle (pictured below) is $3,399.

    I visited their site. Interesting that they do not sell the .22 barrel or barrelled action. But assuming they would go for what a barrelled action goes in other calibers, you are paying $1500 plus just for the chassis. The barrel tuner is a nice touch. I wonder if they pre-tune the barrel our if you have to figure that out on your own. Never have tried one, but I understand that they do work well. I did not notice an accuracy guarantee which at this price is pretty important. Then again, an Anschutz is double.

    Marginal improvements over existing rifles that are a tenth or so the price.
