A Wooden Legend: New Leggenda Folding Knife from WOOX
If there is one thing I wouldn’t have anticipated as a potential release for 2021 it would have probably been this. The Leggenda (Legend) folding knife from WOOX takes the finely crafted Italian-American wooden styling and packs it around a high-quality high carbon D2 Mil-Spec steel folding knife. The knife will be made available nationwide and will be sold through authorized WOOX retailers, dealers, and the WOOX online store.

Wood All the Things! New Leggenda Folding Knife from WOOX
Leggenda features:
- High carbon steel D2 Mil specs finished.
- IKBS thrust bearing pivot system.
- Cutting-edge Walnut with Carbon fiber handle.
- Sturdy liner lock system
- Proudly Made in Italy and USA
- Stainless-steel clip and screws
With the handle of the folding knife being the main draw it is understandably made with high-quality American walnut. The core of the knife is made from high carbon steel and features a liner lock system that most knife collectors will be familiar with and trust. The pocket clip does look like it is reversible using a single Torx screw to attach it to the rear of the knife rather than into the fancy walnut which should provide better security and less wear on arguably the most attractive part of the knife.
The bearing pivot system seems like a very nice luxury for making opening and closing the knife much more smooth. The Leggenda will be available in either a purely walnut-handled option or a more stylized hybrid of American walnut and carbon fiber inlay with the WOOX “X” logo at its center. The knife is currently on sale for $249 for the standard version and the carbon fiber version is currently available for $349. Both knives currently have free shipping as a standard offer. The Leggenda leather sheath is sold separately for $29.

Maybe we can get James to be a hand model for this thing.
Horrible value that… don’t give me any crap about Italian or US made means more value. Knives from good makers in both countries are as good or better for less.
Any of the makers under the MKM umbrella of Italian makers have some very nice examples for around the $250 price point… And they are using a high end steel like M390.
There are even some genuine high end Chinese brands that build actual premium knives in that price range.
The knife world is spoiled with choice of high quality knives in the $100 range, and you can move up into higher end if you want. Heck the sky is the limit for some custom options…
Point is, carbon fiber and stabilized wood are nothing new at lower price points, and D2 is considered a budget steel that sort of gives high end steel edge retention, but with comprises in other criteria.
