Owners of the Glock G43 and G43X pistols beware, there are new drop-in Faxon Match Series barrels available in various configurations and coating types. The barrels are machined by Faxon Firearms out of 416-R stainless steel and then given black Nitride or PVD surface coating. The Glock 43 is perhaps not the first handgun you think about suppressing, but it’s now possible with the optional ½-28 TPI threading.

Here’s the message from Faxon in full:

Faxon Announces Match Series of Barrels for Glock G43/43X

(CINCINNATI, OH) – Faxon Firearms, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based manufacturer of quality rifle and pistol components, and complete firearms, is excited to announce the release of their new Match Series Barrels for Glock® G43/43X.

“This year we are making a big push to expand both our pistol barrel and pistol part and accessories lines. We released M&P® Shield barrels last month, G43 is just releasing, and keep your eye out soon for another single-stack offering. After that, expect some exciting new accessories and different pistol platform barrel offerings. We’ve brought a lot of new machines and equipment online over the past couple of months, which will allow us to really push into these segments.”Jay Wilson, Faxon Director of Product Management

Faxon’s Match Series pistol barrels for Glock® G43/43X are machined 100% in-house from stress-relieved 416-R stainless steel. These barrels are then given a black Nitride or PVD coating to increase lubricity, barrel life, and resistance to surface wear. All barrels are conventionally rifled to allow a wider range of ammunition to be used, including cast lead. The barrels drop into factory-spec slides with no gunsmithing required. Better-than-factory tolerances ensure a consistent, tighter lockup than OEM.

Please tell me why I should put one of these in my G43. Since it is a pocket gun designed for up close and personal defense at arms length, I can't quite wrap my head around the practical purpose for one.

@Kivaari I never cared for the pre-Gen 5 Glocks due to the grip size/shape (Gen 3 too big, Gen 4 grooves still felt unnatural), but the Gen 5 has largely solved those issues for me.

My problem with the G43 is that people typically shoot the Shield and P365 better and I've seen more reliability issues with the G43 than the others. They don't all do it, but I've seen a number of them have issues feeding the last hollow point in a magazine. I figure if I need that last round, I really need that last round. However, if yours works reliably and fits with your carry method, rock on.

However, if I didn't already have my P365XL and M&P Shield, the minor price difference for a G43 with Ameriglo Bold night sights ($431 Blue Label MAP) wouldn't convince me over a P365 ($448 LE MAP with night sights). SIG magazine pricing sucks, however, and I prefer several polymer striker fire pistols over the basic P320 (P-10, M&P 2.0, Gen 5 G17/19/45/34, VP9, PPQ, probably the PDP...). Pretty much everyone has to play the LE/Mil/Security/DA/Judge/EMT/etc pricing game that Glock started if they want to succeed in agency sales these days.
