CMMG Mk 9 Now With Radial Delayed Blowback Action

CMMG is proud to reintroduce their popular Mk 9 in a radial delayed blowback version. The Mk 9 has been one of CMMG’s most popular straight blowback 9mm AR pistols and now it is receiving a brand new operating system allowing it to use a true SMG magazine – the Colt style magazine.

Old is NEW Again! The CMMGa Mk9 Now Has Radial Delayed Blowback

CMMG Mk 9 PCC Now With Radial Delayed Blowback Action

You have all been asking for it, so we did it! We’ve updated our old Mk9 Colt Magazine 9mms to use our Radial Delayed Blowback system! Available in both BANSHEE and RESOLUTE models in all sub-series. We’ve also got upgrade kits available for you to take your Mk 9 lower to a whole new level with and of our 9mm Radial Delayed Blowback uppers.

The CMMG Mk 9 will be a great addition to the CMMG line of PCCs they already offer. Colt mags are high-quality and offer a more natural reloading angle when compared to PCC’s that take Glock magazines. In addition, the radial delayed blowback system will allow the Mk 9 to make use of lighter bolts and buffers which will reduce the overall weight of the platform.

The fixed ejector has also been done away with as the radial delayed blowback bolt has a plunger ejector, and the feed ramp has been adapted to work with the double-stack double-feed 32-round Colt magazines. The modernization process will be available in the Banshee 100, 200, and 300 series in all barrel lengths as well as all versions of the Resolute including their 16-inch variants. Each of the different series offers increasing levels of premium features from the factory based on what you’re willing to spend or want on the gun.

While this isn’t a completely new firearm altogether, I feel like CMMG has made enough upgrades to the Mk 9. For more information on the CMMG Banshee, and Resolute you can visit the new CMMG website at www.cmmg.com.

  • As an owner of an old-school MK9 lower based gun, I think I need to upgrade.

    Radial-delayed blowback ? Like the Seecamp .32 ?

@Jim Page They're not really the same system at all despite similar names. Seecamp seems to be a ring cut in the chamber that causes extra case friction as the brass bulges into the ring slowing blowback if i understand right.
With these it's closer to an inertia delayed opening where there is a rotating bolt head and lighter bolt carrier group with the delay coming from angled side bolt lugs, and angled recesses instead of the usual lockup parrallel to bore. Under pressure these allow the bolt head to unlock itself. The whole set up delays blowback with a fair bit less bolt mass. It looks ARish internally but operates quite differently without a gas system.
Edit: i was a bit off the mark but this video by cmmg does a great job of explaining the system
