In a recent report by Southwick Associates, it was revealed that CCI took the number one spot as the most-purchased handgun ammunition for 2019. The report was generated by surveying more than 20,000 gun owners which included hunters and recreational through ShooterSurvey.com and HunterSurvey.com.

The report took a look at more than 100 products contained in the Southwick Associates 2019 Hunting and Shooting Participation and Equipment Purchases Report. The detailed report was able to track the shopping behaviors of consumers including what store they purchased from, what brands they preferred and how much they purchased at one time. CCI in tandem with its sub-brand Blazer was purchased by more than 24% of those surveyed.
“Our workforce in Lewiston, Idaho is very proud that the popularity of CCI’s Blazer Brass centerfire handgun ammunition continues to lead the market. The survey also revealed that CCI is a leader in rifle ammunition with 15 percent of those surveyed reporting purchases of CCI’s rimfire product line for rifle use,” said Rimfire Product Director Rick Stoeckel. “We also think these results reflect how popular our CCI rimfire loads are with target shooting and plinking with handguns. Within the past 10 years the rimfire platform in handguns has skyrocketed.
New CCI Offerings for 2020
CCI isn’t resting on its laurels though. For 202 CCI will be introducing some new and exciting products such as their new Blazer Brass 10mm Auto. The new 10mm offering will use a 180-gr FMJ bullet. They will also be releasing some new Blazer “Pour Packs” loaded with 425 rounds of 38-gr 22LR. The pour packs will make for easy loading for a long plinking day.

A few other new items also include some new additions to the CCI Clean line. There are now new Clean-22 Suppressor 22LR loads that used advanced polymer and a 45-gr bullet which should help cut down on suppressor fouling. The Clean-22 Suppressor ammunition will come in 200-count easy pour bulk packs.
Finally, there will be a new CCI Clean-22 Segmented hollow point 22WMR. This will use a 46-gr segmented bullet that fragments into equal-sized pieces upon impact. Its polymer coating allows the bullet to separate at much lower velocities and should make for a good varmint round.
