Another new product from Strike Industries! And this time it is a Glock 19 Gen 3 slide called ARK Slide. This is a lightweight slide that also offers a lot of other useful features such as the optics cut, front serrations and angled surfaces designed to improve the performance and make the slide manipulations easier and faster.
The Strike Industries ARK Slide is machined out of billet 17-4 stainless steel and features a black nitrided finish. According to the company, the slide is machined with “clockwork precision to ensure increased consistency in barrel lockup that results in levels beyond than match-grade accuracy“. As in the case of any other lightweight slide, the idea of decreasing the weight by cutting ports and machining reliefs is to reduce the reciprocating mass, thus making it easier to recover from the recoil and allowing to do faster follow-up shots compared to shooting the pistol with a standard weight slide. The ARK slide weighs 0.59 lbs which is about 9.5 oz and it should be roughly a couple of ounces lighter than a standard G19 slide.
Here is what Strike Industries says about what different cuts on these slides are designed for:
We’ve also improved the silhouette with unmatched aggressive styling from the Angled Forward Serrations Points on the front and large surface area in the rear for the most ergonomic pull to the Beveled muzzle creating more grip surface. Combined with our Universal optics cut, you are able to mount your favorite optic with ease securely without needing to get your slide cut. Additionally, a removable cover plate is included for your customization preferences. The Four large port relief cuts will highlight any styled barrel you may have and also provides a faster cycle time with its lightweight structure and improved air flow.
Strike Industries ARK Slide for Glock 19 pistols is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $369.95. Currently, it is available for preorder with an estimated start of shipping being September 2019. Those who preorder these slides will also receive Strike Modular Blade Sights which have a $49.95 value. The ARK Slide comes with all the necessary screws to install Leupold, Trijicon, Docter or MRDS/BURRIS/Vortex Viper handgun red dot sights as well as a set of screws for the cover plate.
