They should produce it for the Howa 1500 action. On brownells you can buy barreled 1500 actions.
I've been following this since it was first announced and just wanted to give a big shoutout to Tyler and his associate(s) -- this looks sweet!
I have a few questions:
- Considering the material costs and the machining (I'm assuming your current design is targeted for CNC milling?), is there any particular reason that this isn't done with e.g. a 3-D printing-ish metal sintering process or even some sort of polymer material?
- Do you know if you can you achieve the requisite stiffness and toughness with a 3-D printing process?
- Which sort of processes did you look at besides the one you are currently pursuing?
- What is the minimum viable weight (assuming your stiffness and toughness targets are reached) with a fluted 24" 6.5 CM barrel looking like the one in the video, including the bolt handle extension?
Keep at it -- this could make a load of difference in portability for long distance shooting/hunting or even just hunting in difficult terrain. I hope you do a load of YT videos on it in the near future and also send out samples for review by reputable long range shooting reviewers at some point.
