Today’s Photo(s) of the Day are taken by Jakob Østheim at the Norwegian Defense (Forsvaret).
You can see both a .50 BMG Heavy Machine Gun as well as short HK416s. The HK416s are fitted with what appears to be Aimpoint CompC4s, which also would make a lot of sense as the Norwegians are known to use them(!)
The label on these short HKs is HK416 K. To the best of my knowledge the barrel length is 11″, and to my knowledge Norway are the only ones to use the HK 416 K.
Norway have about 40 000 HK416s. According to Wikipedia they are using the HK416N, HK416K and the HK416S (specialized DMR version of HK416N, modified in Norway)
