6.5 Creedmoor Now Part of the CMMG Family
CMMG announced the company added 6.5 Creedmoor to its line of AR style rifles. Right now, the company is offering four different models chambered for the long range cartridge: the Mk3, Mk3 P, Mk3 DTR and the Mk3 DTR2.
Mk3
This is the base model AR chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. It uses a 7075-T6 AR10 lower with a rifle length gas system. It has a 20″ medium taper barrel made of 416 stainless steel. The barrel is threaded and capped with an A2-style muzzle device. CMMG uses one of its own KeyMod hand guards and a single stage trigger. The MSRP is $1,799.95.
Mk3 P
A step up from the base Mk3, the P model has a 24″ heavy barrel with a CMMG SV muzzle brake. This barrel is also made of 416 SS.The company sticks with the same single stage trigger and hand guard, but upgrades to a Magpul MOE pistol grip and stock. This one sells for $1,899.95.
Mk3 DTR
If you want M-LOK attachment points, the DTR is the model you should look at. This version of the gun uses the company’s new RML15 hand guard that has M-LOK slots. It uses the same barrel and brake as the P model, but swaps the stock out for the Magpul PRS. The asking price is $2,099.95.
Mk3 DTR2
The top model currently being offered is the Mk3 DTR2. This is a DTR with a Giessele SSA two stage trigger installed. Other than the higher price ($2,274.95,) it appears to use the same barrel and other parts the DTR does.
