American Tactical Inc. attended the recent NASGW Expo in New Orleans, LA. At the show, the company announced two new guns chambered in 9mm and based on the AR platform. One is a rifle while the second is a pistol. Both guns are designed to take Glock magazines.

The new rifle, called the Mil-Sport 9mm AR-15 Carbine, has a 16″ barrel that ends with an A2-style birdcage flash suppressor. American Tactical fits a KeyMod hand guard to the rifle. The buttstock is adjustable for length of pull.

Since the gun is a blowback design, there is no gas block or sight tower. In fact, no sights ship on the rifle. However, the top of the hand guard and receiver has a Picatinny rail for adding them or glass.

The Mil-Sport 9mm AR-15 Pistol is very similar to the carbine, but with a shorter barrel and lack of butt stock. This gun has a 5.5″ barrel but looks a bit unusual due to the 7″ KeyMod hand guard. To compensate for the shorter barrel, American Tactical adds a 2″ flash suppressor to ensures the bullet exits the gun beyond the end of the hand guard.

9mm carbines have become quite popular in the past few years with the cartridge being used in guns like the M1 Carbine and the AK in addition to the AR platform.
