Welcome back to another TFB review. In my last review, I took a look at the SIG Sauer MCX Spear LT and if you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to check it out. There've been a number of large framed AR10s to hit the market. Knights Armament made the absolute iconic M110 but never really offered something similar to the civilian market. There are a number of companies that make models similar to the original M110 with modern upgrades. I decided to purchase a TYPE A M110 Restomod to see what it's all about. After a year of ownership, I decided it was the right time to give my thoughts on my experiences.

The pursuit of speed is unrelenting. It has captured the hearts and minds of mankind worldwide. I imagine the day after the firearm was invented, someone tried to shoot it a tad bit faster. Throughout the years, there have been many upgrades and iterations to the primitive tool that we call the firearm. What may have started as the Hand Cannon in China in the 13th century has long evolved into a tool that's so distant from its roots, that it's almost unrecognizable.

The first online photograph is said to have been published by Tim Berners-Lee in 1992. It’s uncertain how many were able to see the image at that time, but probably only a very limited number. TFB’s Photo Of The Day is hopefully a lot more popular. Here we do our best find interesting high-quality images with a focus on firearms of all sorts.

In my opinion, the MP5 A3 has to be one of the most iconic and aesthetically pleasing firearm designs of all time. The A3 configuration is the configuration with the sliding stock. It was prolific in many action movies of the 80s and 90s, and many video games as well. Chances are you’ve seen the MP5 A3 configuration on the big screen. Unfortunately, Heckler & Koch stopped production of the MP5 A3 stock and transitioned to the new style A3F stock. This left individual buyers with a finite amount of true HK A3 stocks available for purchase. MKE of Turkey took it upon themselves to manufacture the classic A3 style sliding buttstock, to give consumers more options. I have one, and here’s my review.

I have been a fan of the 2011 platform for a long time. I have been using them since 2017 and have owned and worked on over a dozen different 2011s. I was a huge fan of Staccato back when they were known as STI where I got my start with a Hex Tac special edition that was released at SHOT Show. Since then I have been running 2011 pistols for everything from concealed carry to competitions. With the rebranding to Staccato, many people were worried about a potential dip in quality but it seems the concerns were unfounded as Staccato has despite a somewhat rocky start managed to garnish a reputation on par or even surpassing its previous iteration. I bought my first Staccato P almost 2 years ago and have since purchased a multitude of others including a second P, an XC and a C2. Since then I have been running them as carry pieces while upgrading them along the way. I will be going over my thoughts on the pistols both stock and as a platform for upgrading.

The upcoming book Licensed Troubleshooter: The Guns of James Bond from Headstamp Publishing is open for pre-orders on Kickstarter, and it has already dramatically exceeded its goals. The initial goal of $100,000 has been almost quadrupled, with almost $400,000 pledged to pre-orders as of writing. This is an exciting book for gun nerds and James Bond fans alike.

If you’ve read a James Bond novel or watched the movies, you probably know that he’s used all sorts of firearms, but he’s best known for toting one specific pistol: A Walther PPK. Photo Of The Day: Looking for the ultimate noise suppression? That’s the position I was in earlier this year, and after looking around on the market, I ended up with the A-Tec Marksman in .30 caliber. This way I can use it both for my .308 Win rifles, like the Ruger Precision Rifle pictured behind the Concamo, and for my 6.5 Creedmoors. The Marksman is made in Norway, and I use A-Tec’s muzzle brake with Quick-Detach, so I can move it between rifles and still have a good compensator if I decide to shoot unsuppressed.

Kalashnikov Concern JSC presents its new RPL-20 belt-fed light machine gun for the first time outside Russia at the 5th International Defense Industry Exhibition, ADEX 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan from September 24th through the 26th. The rifle was first revealed during the Army 2020 Expo four years ago when it was still in development. Since the RPD was retired in the 1960s, the Soviet, and later Russian, go-to machine guns have been the magazine-fed RPK light machine gun and the belt-fed PKM general purpose machine gun. If adopted the RPL-20 would mark the return of the belt-fed machine gun for the Russian military.

Today fellow writer Darwin and I dig into the U.S. Army’s new rifle and its strange hybrid-cased ammunition. The NGSW program and the resultant firearms that were selected have been met with both praise and disdain for several reasons. However, today the aim is to discuss some of the positives and the negatives of this platform and its cartridge, from the perspective of civilians, reloaders, and of course, guys who just love guns.
