A new Rifle Chassis from Magpul will make this year’s spring warmer and more welcome than ever.

The name is Magpul Pro 700 Rifle Chassis and it’s based on a full billet aluminum skeleton clad in polymer. The idea was to make chassis full of features, as uncompromised as possible, for the Remington 700 short actions (and similar footprints).

As usual with Magpul products the end result looks really nice, but looking at the pictures and solutions below I think even Magpul might have superseded themselves with this chassis.

Perhaps this is why Magpul can charge a grand for a chassis and get away with it, where firearms companies charge about the same for a complete rifle?

Yes, the list price for this chassis is $999.95.

For instance the list price of a Ruger Precision Rifle is 1,599 USD, including both the firearm and a “chassis”. Remington’s own and new Precision Chassis Rifle – The Model 700 PCR – is around the corner as well – for 1,199 USD.

The Magpul Hunter 700 Stock is the polymer option for 259.95 USD.

However, note that the new PRO 700 is an aluminum chassis, not just a polymer solution, so that you compare apples with apples. Still there are plenty of competitors available already, in the 750 USD range.
I like the aggressive angle of the pistol grip. I use the Magpul K2+ on most of my AR15s, and where I can I use that grip on my long range bolt-action rifles as well.

Butt pad height can be adjusted up 1.33” and down .90” and is adjustable left or right 5 degrees.

If you like, you can change the fold-able stock to a fixed.

Also, if you’re a lefty you can reverse the hinge. Now that’s really clever. Perhaps small things like that makes it easier to charge a premium.

Looks like a very rigid construction.
