Photo of the day is a Tikka T3x TAC A1 with a 20″ barrel and a folding stock. Optics from Steiner Germany, that rides a bit high but most likely setup for Night Vision testing previously.

This is a pre-production rifle, but very close to what the final product will look like.

The bipod sits on Finnaccuracy’s TRG22/42 bipod adapter. The rifle is a .308 Win. with a rather massive muzzle brake.

The Tikka TAC A1 is likely to come in .260 Rem and 6,5 Creedmoor as well.

The main picture also shows a sound suppressor from ASE Utra.

It’s nice to finally see some high quality images of this rifle, they are NOT from the SHOT Show.

    That is a sexy bipod.

Isn’t it the one of the Sako TRG? (or an updated version of it)
Overall it’s a cool looking rifle.

exactly.. Any bipod that doesnt look like a double barreled pogo stick is a win

After handling the rifle, It appears higher quality than the Ruger precision.

I like that they added a tab to unlock the bolt while the safety is on as found on the Sako 85 rifles.

Those expensive and elusive 10 round proprietary magazines though, in the post Ruger Precision world I hold the lack of AR-10 magazine compatibility against all and any .308 bolt rifle. Should have become the standard by now.

May require changes to the bolt to do that though.

    I want a Tikka T3x TAC A1 in 6,5 Creedmoor.

    • Smedley54

      Make mine in 260, please.

I saw that first picture, and immediately thought: “You broke it.”… the I started reading.
