Ultimate CZ Bren 2 Torture Test: Sand, Mud, and .300 Blackout!

Join James Reeves as he pushes the iconic Bren 2 to its limits in the ultimate torture test! Last summer, we were granted exclusive access to CZ’s factory, where we got our hands on one of the military variants of the Bren 2 set for retirement. But instead of a farewell, we subjected it to trials that would shake even the toughest firearms. We pushed the Bren 2 beyond its limits with sand, mud, water submersion, and impact testing. But we weren’t done yet. We loaded up this 5.56mm gun with .300 Blackout. How did it fare? Watch the video to find out.

TFB Review: INTEGRIX IX8 1-8X28 LPVO

A while back, Leapers reached out to the crew at The Firearm Blog and asked if anybody would be interested in reviewing one of their new 1-8 LPVOs. I was particularly intrigued by this, as I was not aware that Leapers/Integrix was creating military spec optics, and I thought that they only made scopes for airsoft guns or pellet rifles. I have already done a first impressions piece on the INTEGRIX IX8 1-8X28 LPVO that you can read here. I will be briefly going over the specs here so if you want more of that information, check out the first impressions piece.

Is the Mk18 Reliable? Colt/Daniel Defense Mk18 Torture Test

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves asks “is the Mk18 reliable?” For the unaware, the Mk18 is, more or less, a 10.3″ barrel short and compact AR-15 or M4 that is common in the special operations community. There have been criticisms of the platform over the years and calls for its replacement – but does it really need replacing? To answer the question, James reviews military and government reports about experiments on the Mk18 and discusses them. Additionally, and just for fun, the TFBTV crew and Pensacola Police Department SWAT throw together an informal torture test to see how tough the Daniel Defense DanielDefense and Colt full-auto M4 lower combo – similar to what would be issued to the special forces operators who use this setup – really is.

The Rimfire Report: The SIG P322 – 10,000 Rounds Later

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is about the rimfire firearm world and its various firearms, ammunition, shooting sports, and history. Back in April of this year, we took our first look at the new SIG Sauer P322 rimfire pistol. Overall, the pistol is a well-built, accurate, reliable pistol which is fun to shoot for new and seasoned shooters alike. The SIG P322 thus far has proved to be very reliable, and able to handle just about everything we’ve thrown at it. As promised at the end of my 6,000-round durability test, we’re stopping in again in this edition of The Rimfire Report to see how the SIG P322 is holding up 10000 rounds later.

Mossberg MC2sc TFBTV 1,000 Round Torture Test

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves and Ryan brutalize a Mossberg MC2sc micro-compact pistol. Mossberg’s MC2sc entered the already-crowded micro-compact market relatively late with its 9mm 11+1 doublestack micro-compact pistol, so it’s been relatively low-profile, especially considering that Mossberg is more popularly known for its shotguns. Is the durability of the MC2sc on par with the notoriously rugged Mossberg 500 series of shotguns, or is it just a pretender that offers nothing over its competitors? James, who has had a Mossberg MC2sc for nearly a year without shooting it, decides it’s time to subject this compact handgun to a battery of tests including impact, water, mud, and even corrosion. How does it fare? Check the video to find out.

Surprising "High End" Turkish Pump Shotgun Torture Test: Adler Arms HT108T

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reviews an “expensive” Turkish shotgun, the Adler Arms HT108T. This pump 12 gauge shotgun is pitched as a “high end” Turkish shotgun, and, costing $400 MSRP, this is relatively expensive for a Turkish shotgun, with pumps from Turkey usually costing between $150 and $200. For the money, there are a lot of features: it’s got beautiful wood furniture, a nice gunmetal gray ceramic finish, fiber optic sights, an optic rail, and an integral muzzle brake. Will this shotgun be the FIRST Turkish shotgun to survive the TFBTV Shotgun Torture Test? Check today’s video to see. James also compares the HT108T to the cheapest $160-$180 SDS Imports SLB X2 12 gauge tactical pump shotgun to see what you’re getting – if anything – with the more expensive shotgun.

Reliability Testing the CHEAPEST Semiauto Shotgun: The Citadel Bosshog [Ep. 2]

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves subjects the Citadel ATAC aka Citadel Bosshog aka Citadel Warthog from Legacy Sports International to a 500-round torture test to see how durable and reliable this budget shotgun is. At Just $176, this semiauto costs less than most pump shotguns, but can it survive the notorious TFBTV 500 round burndown? James and the TFBTV crew bring 500 random shotgun rounds including slugs, buckshot, birdshot, and magnums to the range with this cheap semiauto to see how it performs. Watch today’s video to find out.

Leupold Delta Point Micro Review and Torture Test

James was initially not hot on the Leupold Delta Point Micro red dot optic, but he agreed to review one on his Glock 19X anyways. It’s got a weird layout and a small window, but Leupold, and many Delta Point Micro users, all sing its praises as a small, low profile, and durable red dot. James puts it to the test – a torture test – including a drop from a helicopter and a very…uh, unique…submersion test. How did the Glock 19X and Leupold Delta Point Micro combo hold up? You’ll have to watch today’s video and see…

TFB Review: Sharps Xtreme Performance Bolt Carrier Group

Using patented technology, the Sharps Xtreme Performance Bolt (XPB) aims to improve your AR-15’s overall reliability under hard use. This isn’t just another mil-spec bolt carrier group (BCG).  Patented asymmetric bolt lugs are designed to cut through heavy fouling, and the XPB’s parts are all made from S7 tool steel. In order to see how tough the XPB really was, I dreamed up a steel-cased torture test, and Sharps Rifle Company kindly sent a couple versions of the XPB over for review.

Of course, James delivers a full review and compares it to other offerings on the market such as the ever-popular Glock 19. How does it stack up? Check today’s video for the review and the results.

Hi-Point C9 -100 Freeze Torture Test: Does it Work?

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves freezes a Hi-Point C9 – perhaps the cheapest 9mm semi-automatic handgun – in a cooler with -100 degree dry ice for roughly 12 hours before getting it out and testing its reliability. This is a gun that is known for being cheap but tough and reliable – so how does it hold up to extreme freezing?

I Left My Glock 17 Outside During a Tropical Storm for 2 Days

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves capitalizes on a rare chance for one of mother nature’s best Glock torture tests: tropical storm. Tropical storm Cristobal made landfall in Louisiana on June 7, 2020, so before the storm hit, James left his Gen 5 Glock 17 in the backyard. Out there it sat for two days in constant, driving rain. Once the storm lifted, James brought it to the range to see if it still functioned or if there were any issues. Tune in to see what happened.

The Glock was then removed from the icebox and shot immediately to see if the most reliable handgun of all time could get through an entire magazine of ammo after extreme freezing.
