Merry Christmas from The Firearm Blog!
Merry Christmas to all our readers, both at home in the USA and abroad, and a happy new year to all! It’s been a big year here at The Firearm Blog. The blog turned 10, and became the Number 1 gun blog on the Internet, and saw the well-deserved retirement of both our Assistant Editor Phil White and our Chief Editor Steve Johnson. In 2017, we added a bunch of great new talent, including Andrew of the Chopping Block, Mike B of Bloke on the Range, Matthew Moss of Historical Firearms, Corey Wardrop, curator of the Institute of Military Technology. Now, Tom has the helm, supported by Pete and James, and we are looking forward to what the new year will bring. Of course, first stop: SHOT Show 2018!
Black Friday Record BROKEN: 200,000 Guns Sold – The "Trump Slump" Is a MYTH!
Those who expected the slump in the gun market to extend to the buyingest day in the year will be surprised: Black Friday, November 24 shattered the record for most NICS checks in a single day by over 17,000, reports USA Today. The total? 203,086 background checks processed, up from 185,713 in 2016 and 185,345 in 2015.
Happy Thanksgiving, from the Firearm Blog!
Here at The Firearm Blog, we hope all our readers are having a very happy Thanksgiving! Whether at home here in North America, or abroad, we hope your Thanksgiving day is one of rest, friends, family, and of course, food!
Black Friday 2016 Gun Deal Roundup (+ Poll)
Black Friday is just days and it would not be Black Friday for us without SlickGuns cataloging all the firearm, ammunition and accessory deals. This Black Friday is of special importance, being the first Black Friday after the 2016 Elections. The result of the election has put a damper on consumer demand, and in my opinion because of that the deals look better than they did last year. Our Black Friday 2016 Poll is at the bottom of this post.
