Dead Air Armament is known for their small, but impressive portfolio of silencers and they were in attendance at SHOT Show 2019. While they did not have any new silencers for us at this show, they did unveil some new accessories. The most notable one was their New E BRAKE or blast diverter.

“50/50 Muzzle Can + Barrel Shroud” is exactly the name of this accessory made by a company called  Black Moose. And it is what its name says. This device is basically a 1.25″ diameter tube with a threaded portion about halfway inside it. Once installed on the rifle, half of this accessory becomes a barrel shroud and the second half protrudes over the muzzle working as a blast shield.

Suppressed Armament Systems (SAS) manufactures silencers, muzzle brakes and flash hiders, as well as does custom precision rifle builds. Here is a short review of their product line:

Muzzle devices with blast shields/diverters were so last year, but it looks like companies are still coming out with their own versions. In the case of Strike Industries they’re collaborating with one of the most popular blast diverter brands around. Remember the Ferfrans CQB Modular Muzzle Brake? Well now you can buy a combo pack that includes a Ferfrans Concussion Reduction Device (or CRD) and one of Strike Industries muzzle brakes.

It’s been a little while since another blast diverter has hit the market, well Fortis Manufacturing just gave us a sneak peak at their new muzzle brake and Control Blast Mitigation Device attachment. Like with many of the other blast diverters out there the Fortis version also attaches to their muzzle brake and directs the blast forward and away from the shooter and others to the side. If you’re running an XTC2.0 muzzle brake from Rainier Arms you’ll also be able to use the new blast diverter from Fortis as they use the same attachment design.
