ARES Defense STEP-22LS Pistol

ARES Defense announced a new .22 LR pistol system called the STEP-22LS. In case you were curious about the name, it stands for Strategic Target Engagement Pistol, Low Signature. The system is offered under the company’s special product division: FightLite. These units mount directly onto the frame of a Ruger 22/45 and Mk-I, -II and -III pistols.

KeyMod Handguard from ARES Defense

ARES Defense Systems issued an press release announcing that the company is now selling a KeyMod handguard for the Mission Configurable Rifle (MCR.) The handguards are made of machined aluminum and have a black anodized finish. No word yet on pricing or availability.

Ares Defense has now put out a press release confirming the release of the SCR at NRA next week.I would also like to add that Ares Defense out of Florida is not affiliated with Ares Armor out of California, a distinction I would like to make after some comments on the last post regarding the SCR release.

Video of Unreleased Ares Defense SCR surfaces

Yesterday a video surfaced on a YouTube account under the name Matt Kennedy with B&H Gun Sales (or B&H Police Supply) out of Merritt Island, FL. The video is about a new lower called the SCR (Sporting Configurable Rifle) that is currently a prototype from Ares Defense. It looks to be a traditional style monte carlo stock, which would make it legal in states like California and New York.
