Alchemy Custom Weaponry announced the first gun of their “Restomod” series, a throwback to the 1911 used by MEUSOC in the 1990s. This limited edition pistol marries the features of those classic pistols with state-of-the-art manufacturing and materials. Let’s a look at the features.
1911 @ TFB:
- Ed Brown Releases 1911 Flat Wire Recoil System
- The Rimfire Report: The Vudoo Target .22LR 1911 Pistol
- Better in Black! NEW Springfield Armory Emissary 1911 All-Black Variants
- The Italian 1911: Tanfoglio’s NEW High-End 1911 Pistols
- Affordable Accuracy: CMP and Tisas Team Up For New 1911s
Just like the original MEUSOC guns, the ACW model includes Pachmayr grips. The sights are serrated and all black. Unlike the modern crop of 1911s, the slide serrations are vertical for a throwback vibe. In addition, the slide and frame markings are very reserved and have a distinctly utilitarian military feel.
The retail price is listed at $4,750, and the pistols are in production now with an anticipated delivery date of May 20, 2024. Sadly, there were only 25 available for order and all appear to have been sold. There is an option to add an email to get a notification if one happens to come back into stock. Keep an eye on ACW for future guns in the Restomod series to avoid missing out on those models.
From the manufacturer:
Alchemy Custom Weaponry is proud to pay tribute to the United States Marine Corps and their custom combat .45 with our vision on this iconic handgun. While visually this gun resembles a 90s warhorse, underneath this gun is all ACW. Hand fit, oversized components and expertly finished in a hard blast DLC. We’ve even stamped the King’s style thumb safety and slide with the gun’s serial, as was done on the original MEUSOC pistols. You’ll find the frame is adorned with A1-style scallops, as well as no front strap checkering in favor of the wrap-around Pachmayr grips. The mainspring housing offers a lanyard loop to make sure you don’t lose your gun while boarding a stolen cargo ship and the ring hammer is present for maximum testosterone (it’s also period correct, because the Corps’ has style). You’ll notice new ACW markings, styled after the slides used for these pistols as well as vertical cocking serrations and a fixed Harrison “Retro” rear sight.
