Slovakian holster maker Falco has unveiled its new CX-85 carbon-fiber Outside-the-Waistband (OWB) holster at this year’s SHOT Show. The new holster, which retails for $599, unfortunately became the target of a theft; leaving the makers with just a photograph to display for the rest of the event. This state-of-the-art holster option is a 100 percent carbon fiber construction, thereby offering a lightweight yet incredibly durable solution for carrying handguns. The optional red dot-compatible design adds to its advanced features, however, the high-end construction and features are reflected in its price – it is one of the more expensive options on the market.

Apart from its latest entry, Falco has also updated several of its famous 600-series holsters. The Inside-the-Waistband (IWB) and Outside-the-Waistband (OWB) holster series have been revamped with a forward-tilted pistol butt and double-stitched areas for enhanced strength over the previous models. With these improvements in place, the company aims to offer a sturdier and more durable product to its customers.

One of the significant upgrades is the introduction of a new “claw” feature in the IWB holster. The claw functions to tip the pistol butt out from the carrier’s waist, offering an easier grip while quick drawing. Falco’s goal with these updates isn’t a massive overhaul of the 600 series, but rather a series of improvements that result in a better product. The company hasn’t yet released pricing for the updated models.

Whilst discussing the latest improvements, a Falco staffer was quoted saying: “We just made them better, to last longer”. Alongside their new and improved 600 series, Falco also showcased a hybrid Kydex-and-leather appendix-carry holster, which presents an interesting mix of traditional and modern holster materials.
