Hello and welcome to TFB Weekly Web Deals 66. Once again it appears that a small ammunition shortage will be coming. This new panic comes on the heels of the announcement that the Lake City Ammunition plant would be canceling all of its current commercial contracts which supply something like 30% of the civilian market’s 5.56 ammunition. While the plant is operated by Olin Winchester, it is owned by the US Government which means that to no one’s surprise, the US Government gets first crack at ammo production, and anything beyond that gets thrown to the commercial market. Multiple gun stores have already reported a great increase in the amount of “bulk buying” that customers are doing in anticipation of this new shortage. If you feel strapped for 5.56, or just want to pick up a few boxes as usual, this week’s deals will all be primarily 5.56 and .223 ammunition.
