POTD: The Beretta ARX200 DMR – With Extras

DMRs, or Designated Marksman Rifles, are so hot at the moment. As you can see, our Photo Of The Day reflects this, with some marketing images from Beretta Defense Technologies, as posted on their LinkedIn. The Beretta ARX200 DMR was shown at the World Defense Show in 2022.

Here’s their caption to explain what’s going on in the images:

"Modular BDT Weapon System for DMR configuration:
BERETTA ARX200 DMR chambered in MFS Ammunition 7.62×51, complemented by US made Steiner eOptics Dual Beam Aiming Laser with IR LED Illuminator (DBAL-D2) , a Steiner Optics GmbH M8Xi 1-8×24 scope and a backup MRS red dot to engage targets in a wide spectrum of ranges."

I guess no one can tell if competition shooters or the military were the first to incorporate secondary sights like this, but in 2023 it seems mandatory in each and every major procurement. As a competition shooter, I can tell that this combination works quite well. The mount looks like it’s made by Spuhr.

The Steiner eOptics DBAL-D2. That handguard looks pretty slim.

Hot or not? Do you have a DMR in your collection already?
