While a negligent discharge is at the top of my list of things to avoid on the range, there are other dangers to consider while shooting. Traditional steel targets cause bullets to fragment on impact. Those tiny pieces typically fly into the ground around the target, but every now and then, one will fly back and hit me. Thankfully, I’m smart enough to wear eye protection, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get hurt. THROOM TARGETS Ricochet-Free Silhouette KnockDown Series

Throom Targets makes several versions of their ricochet-free targets. Fellow TFB Writer Luke Cuenco wrote up a review if you’d like to check that out. This KnockDown Series kit comes with eight knockdown targets of various shapes and sizes. The largest target is the ram, which measures 6.5″, and is contrasted by the chicken, which is only three inches wide. Also included are eight bases, which can be mounted to a base, giving the targets stability. The targets will fall when shot and are self-healing.
