Remington To Include Timney Triggers In All 700-series Rifles
In a recent Instagram post, Remington announced that all new Remington 700 rifles will feature Timney triggers. Yes, that’s right, all Model 700 rifles, including the base model. This is exciting news as an aftermarket trigger is one of the most popular upgrades for any bolt action rifle.
Remington @ TFB:
We recently covered the introduction of the Impact 700 trigger. It is a non-adjustable model with a 3-4 pound pull weight and a competitive $124.99 price point. Remington will supply the Impact 700 in all models except the Alpha 1 and Police. The Alpha 1 has an Elite Hunter trigger with a straight blade, and the Police model has an Elite Hunter with a curved blade.
Remington and Timeny have a shared web page that discusses their collaboration. You can check it out here.
From the manufacturer:
We are proud to announce an inline product change across the board for all Remington Model 700 bolt action rifles. Remington Firearms has joined forces with Timney Triggers and now all newly manufactured Remington Model 700 rifles will come with a factory-installed Timney trigger. There are three different versions of the Timney trigger we will offer:
- Impact 700 Trigger – All Model 700s, except for the Alpha 1 and Police.
- Elite Hunter Straight Trigger – Model 700 Alpha 1
- Elite Hunter Curved Trigger – Model 700 Police
The Model 700 was 1st introduced in 1962 and Timney has been manufacturing their versions of the Model 700 trigger since 1965. Unquestionable commitment by our men and women to quality, performance and delivering a new level of standard to the hunter in the field.
The new Impact 700 trigger has a factory set pull weight of 3-4 pounds (non-adjustable) that will give you a crisp, clean break and features Timney’s Sear Engagement Adjustment Lock design (SEAL’d) which ensures a user-friendly experience.

Like a Cummins in a Ram, one gives luster to the other.
The old 700 triggers from back in the day didn’t need to be upgraded because they were great as they were, just saying!
Never had a safety issue with any of mine either.
