The Blast Shield for Strike Modular Chassis (SMC) – ALPHA (Hyper) was designed to protect your thumb from muzzle blast and heat with even longer Picatinny rail length over the Standard Version. The SMC Blast Shield redirects muzzle blast forward and upward away from the shooters face.

This shield is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. This material was chosen for more than its weight-to-strength ratio. Aluminum was selected over steel for its superior thermal conductivity, protecting your thumbs. The Blast Shield also works to divert muzzle blast upward and forward, away from the shooter. The shield extends the available Picatinny rail, leaving you with enough room for a spare mag and a light.
