The hungriest beast of them all on this blog is our Photo Of The Day. It consumes hundreds of images every month, and it has been doing so for over 9 years. Here we see U.S. Army Spc. Jackson Shlef, a sniper assigned to the East Africa Response Force (EARF), as he observes a position during training at Arta Range, Djibouti, earlier this year. What do you think of the improvised shooting position?

The East Africa Response Force serves as part of U.S. Africa Command’s crisis response capability and is tasked with responding to emergency situations at U.S. Embassies in the East African region or in countries around the CJTF-HOA area of interest.

That's OK for a photo op, but if he was seriously attempting to take out a target, the motor had better be off and that guy at the front door better not be shaking the SUV.
