The world is hungry for visual storytelling, and TFB’s Photo Of The Day does its best to keep the feed live. Today we have U.S. Army Soldiers from across the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, as they compete for the title of Best Warrior during the Pistol Qualification Range at Ft. Knox, in the State of Kentucky.

The SIG Sauer M17 and M18 pistols have been in service since 2017. The first unit to receive the M17 was the 101st Airborne Division. The M17 has a modular design, which allows it to be easily adapted to different roles and preferences. It has a 4.7-inch barrel and a capacity of 17 rounds. The pistol is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and is striker-fired.

Best Warrior Competition measures a soldier’s physical abilities and knowledge of basic and advanced warrior tasks over the course of five days.
