TFB Podcast Roundup 70: Lever Actions, & Bizarro Single-Action Calibers
Hello and welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 70. Everyone here in the TFB bullpen is getting amped up for SHOT Show 2023 with tons of expected and unknown firearms, gear, and ammunition to be revealed at the annual expo. This week we’ve brought you a few good episodes from the folks over at GUNS Magazine Podcast, Gun Talk Radio, the Vloquartsen No Excuse to Miss Podcast, and a pretty neat episode from the Protectors Podcast featuring Henry Repeating Arms CEO Anthony Imperato. Of course, there’s always an episode or two here from our own TFB podcast. This week we’re bringing back Miles V, who many of you may know from much older TFB articles and TFBTV episodes. No matter what you’re getting up to this week, thanks for checking out this week’s lineup of firearms podcast content!

Today we will discuss and share in our opinions on home defense firearms. For those looking for a first firearm to keep at home where does one begin? For those considering a different option, what needs to be taken into consideration? We will discuss pistols, shotguns, rifles, AR/AK pistols, etc. the pros and cons of each one and what works best for us. Remember, this all comes down to personal preference with what will work best for you and your home but at a minimum we can help you better understand your options.
Aging is inevitable, but contrary to popular belief we have a choice in how we age. Jeff Bergholtz joins Scott Volquartsen to discuss the importance of fitness and mobility as we get older. Jeff also dives into the connection between fitness and the ability to hunt consistently. He touches on our metabolic rate as we age, as well as the importance of diet. Jeff recently won the 2022 Mr. Tennesee Masters over 60 division. He’s an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and former champion turkey caller. He’s also the owner of TAKES2FITNESS, a personal training and coaching studio in Nashville, TN.
Veteran cameraman Don Lagarde joins Gun Talk Hunt’s Kevin “KJ” Jarnagin for a truly unique episode. The pair discuss not only a recent Alaskan hunt, but years of memorable shoots with Gun Talk Media. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like from the other side of the lens, this is the episode for you.
Ever heard of a Single-Action Army in .223? How about one in .25 ACP? Of course, somebody’s done it, and in today’s episode, we discuss the why and how of such things, along with examining how some guns eventually see the market while others never see the light of day.
On today’s episode of the TFB Behind the Gun Podcast, we’ve brought back Miles V formerly of TFBTV. Miles is a retired combat Marine infantryman who spends a lot of his time traveling the world and being helpful in any way he can. Usually, this means Miles is attached to some sort of charity organization that helps train citizens of war-torn areas with life-saving medical techniques, as well as providing relief efforts. Most recently Miles’ adventures have brought him to the War in Ukraine that has been going on for the better part of 2022. Today Miles shares with us some of his experiences, thoughts, and reactions about things he’s seen, done, and experienced in the now war-torn country of Ukraine. Everything from the types of arms and equipment that both sides are using to the general attitude of the people involved in the conflict. Please welcome Miles V. once again to the TFB Behind The Gun Podcast.
