Springfield Armory Introduces the Emissary 4.25

    Emissary 4.25

The 1911, despite being as old as Bilbo Baggins on the day he left the shire for Rivendell never to return, has somehow managed to remain one of the most popular handguns in the US. Springfield Armory has been producing this iconic handgun since it opened its doors in 1974, and with the introduction of the Emissary 4.25 it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon. Offered up as a more compact and carry friendly (38.5oz though) option to their existing Emissary 1911.

Here’s what Springfield Armory have to say about the Emissary 4.25:

Combining compact dimensions with qualities inspired by custom-grade 1911 pistols, the Emissary 4.25” in .45 ACP is ready for everyday carry. Its Tri-Top slide features light-diffusing 40 line-per-inch serrations along the sighting plane, and a heavy-profile forged stainless steel bull barrel ensures maximum accuracy. With a forged hot salt blued slide and forged stainless steel frame with squared triggerguard and grenade-pattern checkering, you get a pistol ready for display or defense.

The Springfield Armory Emissary 4.25 is also available in 9x19mm if that’s your thing. Overall if you’re into 1911s, this might be a good option. I purchased a Springfield Armory 1911 as my first handgun way back when I turned 21 and it served me well for several years and a couple thousand rounds before I wandered off the deep end of polymer frames and striker-fired pistols. Even now though I can’t help but admire the aging design for its quirks and longevity. TWO WORLD WARS!!!

The Emissary as well as most of the rest of Springfield Armory’s massive lineup of 1911’s are available through your preferred dealers. Let us know what you think of it in the comment section below!
