Contrary to the belief of certain shooting competition organizations, appendix carry is a viable and very popular option for those who carry concealed. The position allows me to maintain constant control of my firearm and provides a very quick draw. Galco understands, however, and has just released their Paragon 2.0 holster, designed specifically for AIWB carry.

Galco news @ TFB:

Adjustable for angle from strongside to crossdraw, the Paragon™ 2.0 is ideally suited for the popular appendix carry method!

With a Kydex holster body, the Paragon 2.0 offers comfortable carry, fast draw and easy return to holster.

Are you being serious here? Could you imagine the liability issues associated with having a competition where people are drawing and shooting from "appendix carry"? The majority of casual shooters have problems just drawing from a belt mounted holster and that's before moving on to concealed carry and learning how to lift their shirt or jacket with their support hand.

You might find an experienced shooter or two that can do it safely under stress but opening up a competition for it? Seems like a horrible idea. How would you go about weeding out the mouth breathers from the competent shooters? How many accidents and NDs would be acceptable until the whole thing gets shut down for safety reasons? I would say the beliefs of shooting organizations are not contrary at all to the safety of the participants or to wanting to avoid litigation.

Are you absolutely sure you don't want a manual safety on your striker-fired pistol?

@Zapp Brannigan Yes. Use a good holster, keep finger off bang switch but In position to keep other stuff from bang switch too.

      There, done.
