Many times, I find that folks in the gun community also enjoy other outdoor activities. If you find yourself hiking, especially with a lot of gear, you might have noticed that a gun on your belt isn’t always the most comfortable or accessible option. To help clear their gear, some weekend adventurers have started using chest holsters. Galco Holsters seems to touch on every method of carrying; this one included. New from Galco, this is the High Ready chest holster.

Galco Holsters news @ TFB:

Galco’s High Ready™ chest holster system is the latest in an expanding line of torso-mounted hunting and outdoor holsters. Very comfortably carrying a large-frame semiauto in an easily-accessible chest position, the High Ready is ideal for protection when hunting, fishing, camping or hiking in bear country. Positioning on the chest keeps the handgun clear of gear carried near the waistline or on the back. This also helps keep the handgun dry when wading, and is a great choice for riding, whether on an ATV or horseback.

The NEW High Ready Chest Holster From Galco Holsters

The High Ready chest holster from Galco Holsters uses hybrid-style construction. The hard Kydex shell is attached to a softer nylon backing, which carries closed-cell foam padding. The padded side goes against your body for added comfort. The bodyside also uses Galco’s Comfort Cloth, which is an Adaptive Performance Mesh meant to aid in moisture-wicking. The 2″-wide straps connect at three points for increased stability while moving. Currently, this holster is only available for Glock pistols.
