Federal Trophy Copper MeatEater Ammo Adds 6.5 PRC

    Trophy Copper MeatEater

The 6.5 PRC cartridge has found a home in the world of PRS competitions because of its flat-shooting properties. Federal Premium has decided to take it one step closer to the hunting realm. Mixing the superior flight performance of 6.5 PRC with the animal wounding properties of solid copper, Federal has added the 6.5 PRC cartridge to the Trophy Copper MeatEater line of rifle ammunition.

    Federal news @ TFB:

    Trophy Copper Meat Eater

The fast, flat-shooting 6.5 PRC cartridge has proven itself in competition and earned the respect of elite long-range shooters. We’ve combined that performance with our Trophy® Copper bullet design to offer hunters an even more effective option. The new 120-grain load provides pinpoint accuracy and aggressive expansion, yet produces limited, manageable recoil.

    Force X2 Shorty

The solid copper bullet weighs in at 120 grains. The copper construction of the bullet retains up to 99% of its weight after impact with the target. This ensures both deep penetration and reliable expansion, which was not always the case when using expanding bullets. The bullet has a polymer tip, and the shank of the bullet is grooved. These two properties are meant to increase accuracy no matter which firearm is used. The boat-tail design is used to reduce bullet drop, allowing for more precise and effective long-range shots in the field.
