Marlin Firearms announced via their Instagram account that the first Ruger-made Marlin 1895 SBL lever-action rifles began shipping to distributors, and dealers. There has been much talk and anticipation regarding new production Marlin firearms ever since they were acquired by Ruger back in November of 2020. Marlin completed the first of their Model 1895 SBL rifles back in October and customers can now start finding them at their local gun stores or have them ordered through dealers.

This American-made lever-action rifle was manufactured with great pride and attention to detail. You can expect the same time-honored design as the traditional 1895, combined with Ruger’s trusted reputation for producing high-quality, reliable firearms.

QUALITY CRAFTED INTO EVERY RIFLE

Improved manufacturing processes create tight tolerances, resulting in a reliable, attractive rifle. Multi-layered quality control procedures, including daily function and accuracy audits and multiple inspections, result in a high-quality product.

The new Ruger-Marlin-produced Model 1895 SBL rifles will feature fiber-optic and tritium-equipped front sight and a windage adjustable ghost ring rear aperture sight. The bolts on the new 1895 SBLs will feature nickel-plating and spiral flutes that give the rifle smoother operation and add a bit of class to the rustic design. The stock will feature checkering while the forend will have similar checkering and a slimmer profile for improved ergonomics.

The barrels of the 1895 SBL will feature match polishing, factory-installed thread protectors, and have an 11/16×24 thread pitch for your favorite muzzle accessory. The magazine tube capacity for at least the 45-70 Govt model will be capped at 6-rounds and the remainder of the rifle will all be constructed from polished stainless steel with the only exception being the laminate stock, which is currently only available in grey.

Other new features will include updated location of manufacture engraved into the barrel, a new “RP” proof mark located on the left side of the firearm, Ruger-made Marlin serial numbers with an “RM” prefix, Marlin Horse and Rider logo engraved on the rifle’s grip and the traditional black and white Marlin bullseye located on the rifle stock will now be red and white.
