SILENCER SATURDAY #189: The YHM Rifle Suppressor Lineup

Good morning suppressor lovers and welcome back to TFB’s Silencer Saturday brought to you by Yankee Hill Machine, manufacturers of the YHM Turbo K 5.56 rifle suppressor. Last week we discussed a great combination: the SIG P320 XCARRY with the modular MODX-9 pistol caliber silencer. Being that we are in the peak of summer vacation season, we’ll have get back to our full reviews in a week or two. In the next month, we have got the semiautomatic testing of the Elevated Silence Evolution to finish up, a detailed review of the SilencerCo Omega 36M, and a pending new release from a major suppressor manufacturer. This week we take a look at the YHM rifle suppressor lineup – excellent performers for a wide variety of hosts at affordable price points.

I do my best to keep my biases in check here during our weekly caucuses. Yankee Hill Machine is our sponsor, so if I’m constantly praising the Turbo K, it may feel like I’m just shilling. On the other hand, we do highlight manufacturers from all corners of the United States, from different distributors and dealer networks. So sometimes I feel like I don’t give YHM suppressors enough airtime. It’s a delicate balance between perceived shilling and ignoring quality silencer options. Yankee Hill has never dictated any Silencer Saturday content and never complains when I praise other brands.

But through all that, the facts have always remained the same – YHM makes high quality suppressors at a great prices. An excellent 5.56mm suppressor for about $400 is a pretty big deal. If anyone asks me for a recommendation for an AR-15 silencer, one of my first suggestions is almost always the Turbo or Turbo K. With the addition of the 1 3/8” mounting threads in the last few years, the Turbo can adapt to almost any setup. Notwithstanding the fact that the native YHM mount and muzzle devices are no nonsense one-hand on/off winners in their own right.

Similarly, suggestions for a 7.62mm rifle suppressor often land on either the Resonator or Resonator K options. They will both perform well on a variety of hosts and are priced somewhere between 1/2 to 2/3 the cost of other market options. The Yankee Hill Nitro N20 is priced higher than other Yankee Hill Machine offerings, but offers strong performance, lighter weights and a nearly endless array of modular configurations.

But my current YHM favorite is the R9. Simple and compact, the R9 can move from a three-lug sub machinegun, to a pistol to a 5.56 or 300BLK AR-15. If you are looking of one suppressor to handle the majority of hosts and costs about the same as a GLOCK, the YHM R9.

Regardless of any Silencer Saturday sponsorship, Yankee Hill Machine will continue to get my recommendation for capable and affordable suppressor options. I’ve included their complete lineup below, along with links to purchase directly from Silencer Shop if you choose .

Thank you for reading, enjoy your weekend and we’ll see you back here next weekend for another Silencer Saturday.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves visits the Yankee Hill Machine booth at SHOT Show 2020 and gets to scoop on new silencers, including modular cans with third party muzzle device compatibility, an integrally suppressed AR-15 upper, and more. ««« GUN AND GEAR GIVEAWAYS »»» PLEASE check out our Patreon and Subscribe Star pages if you enjoy our program, and consider helping us at TFBTV out!
