POTD: Suppressive Fire From The 173rd Airborne Brigade
Another day another Photo Of The Day: This collection comes from the 173rd Airborne Brigade where U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to Able Company, 2nd Infantry Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, can be seen laying down suppressive fire while assaulting an objective. This happened during the African Lion 21 exercise, on the Grier Labouie Airbase, Morocco, June 10, 2021.
African Lion 2021 was U.S. Africa Command’s largest, premier, joint, annual exercise hosted by Morocco, Tunisia, and Senegal, 7-18 June. More than 7,000 participants from nine nations and NATO trained together with a focus on enhancing readiness for U.S. and partner nation forces. AL21 is multi-domain, multi-component, and multinational exercise, which employs a full array of mission capabilities with the goal to strengthen interoperability among participants.

Why are they Able company and not Alpha company?
Is that a weird combat arms thing?
