Shortly after finishing the “Apocalypse” project, the Special Projects Division of Meridian Defense Corporation launched a new series of limited edition custom AKs called “7 Sins”. This line of rifles will consist of seven AKs each named after one of the seven deadly sins (lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride). In this article, we’ll take a look at the first and currently the only rifle of the series – the LUST.

The MDC LUST rifle is based on the company’s Pestilence AK. The major difference between the two rifles is that LUST features a side-folding triangle stock instead of a fixed wooden stock. The LUST rifle is built with a Romanian parts kit on an MDC-47 stamped receiver (1mm, heat-treated). The receiver is fitted with a side scope rail. The rifle is chambered in 7.62x39mm and features a 14.5″ US-made 4150 CMV black nitrided barrel with a pinned and welded muzzle device to have a 16.1″ overall legal barrel length. The rifle comes standard with an MDC BD2-51T muzzle brake, but the company offers a wide range of optional muzzle devices that include their BD3-AK, Battle Comp BC51, Dead Air Key Mount Muzzle Brake, Dead Air Flash Hider, LANTAC Dragon, SilencerCo ASR Muzzle Brake and SilencerCo ASR Flash Hider. Additionally, the customers can specify a different muzzle device when ordering these rifles. The LUST rifle also features an MDC gas block / front sight block, UltiMAK railed gas tube and TangoDown pistol grip. The wooden handguard is refinished in the MDC Apocalypse finish and the metal parts have the company’s custom battle-worn finish.

The price of the Meridian Defense Corporation LUST rifle is $2,149. For an additional $149, you can order a KNS adjustable gas piston instead of the standard one, and if you want to replace the standard trigger with a tuned and polished ALG trigger, you’ll need to pay an extra $65. The rifle comes with one 30-round steel magazine. Those living in California will get a LUST that meets the state’s law requirements.
