Welcome everyone to the 95th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the green AR-15 was just a fudd crap.
At this time, the original auction remains up on GunBroker for $925. We hope it finds a new home on the farm in the near future.
In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a Dallas Cowboys themed Glock 30 chambered in 45 ACP. As is tradition, this custom Glock is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $1,095.00 Starting Bid or $1,295.00 Buy It Now.
Special thank you to reader Johnathan for the tip!
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP?
Cowboys Classic or Texas Tragic?
Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:
“I mean, at least being a Glock the gun wouldn’t fail and let you down all the time like the Cowboys do… and I say that as a lifelong (read: long-suffering) fan of the team.” -Will P.
“45 ACP. Last popular in 1987. Like the Cowboys” – Pete
“I mean 45 owners and Cowboys fans are very similar. Both think their choice is superior to all others even though it’s a total fallacy. This glock is a match made in hell” – Matt E.
Selling this silver and blue clad gat is GunBroker seller Digididog, located in Ephrata WA. Let’s see what they had to say about this sports themed Glock.
COWBOYS FAN THIS ONE IS ONE TO OWNED!!!!!!
There is nothing quite like packing a GLOCK chambered in the hard hitting .45 ACP. The compact and concealable GLOCK 30 Gen 4 semi-auto pistol is exactly what you are looking for when it comes to big bore performance in a small, lightweight package. GLOCK was able to stuff ten rounds of the man stopping .45 ACP into the subcompact pistol while retaining a form factor that will melt into just about any clothing with a good holster.
The improvements with the Gen 4 upgrade adds some welcome changes to the ultra reliable pistol. A new rough texture is applied to the grip of the pistol so that you will have a good grip on the pistol regardless of how slippery your hands are from sweat, mud or even blood. GLOCK even added a replaceable backstrap system that helps fit the pistol to your hand as well as a reversible magazine catch so left handed shooters can enjoy the pistol just as much as Gaston Glock envisioned.
This post-pandemic era has seen prices on firearms and ammunition skyrocket. So am I surprised to see a Glock well above MSRP? No. Do I think a Glock 30 is worth anywhere close to $1,095.00 with or without this paint scheme? Absolutely not.
Even if this was the official handgun of the Dallas Cowboys, I’d still say it’s not worth it. Themed guns (especially sub-compact carry guns) will always be tacky, and you’ll never be able to change my mind. Even if the Cerakote was good (and this is sub par at best) there’s no way the gun is worth $1k+.
As always, I could be wrong. I’m far from a sports fan, and I’m sure there will be plenty of arguing about why the Cowboys do or do not suck in the comments. But is this custom G30 a hot gat? As always, I leave it it up to you, the reader, to decide.
What do you think? Is this Cowboys themed Glock a Hot Gat or some overpriced fanboy Fudd Crap? Be sure to let us know in the comments below, and cast your vote to let us know if this Dallas Cowboys themed G30 is a Hot Gat or Fudd Crap:
