POTD: Finnish Fire and Movement – Combat Shooting

    Guard Jaeger Regiment finnish

In this Photo Of The Day, we visit the Guard Jaeger Regiment from Finland and take a look at their weapons and gear. It’s not too often we get a closer look at these, so here’s an excellent opportunity.

    Fire and movement
The most important doctrine of the infantry. This was also practiced by the Uusimaa Jaeger Battalion in its action-packed shooting and combat exercise in Santahamina.
The conscripts were allowed to practice offensive shooting with hard ammunition on the combat shooting range and operating under the influence of indirect fire. For some of the conscripts, the exercise was certainly memorable, as the enemy was influenced by, among other things, heavy disposable rifles and grenade machine guns. In addition, explosives were used in the exercise. The battle rescuers on the team also got to practice first aid for the wounded and their evacuation.
What is your most memorable experience of combat shooting?

Below you can see the 40 KRPIST 2002 or Heckler & Koch HK69 which is a 40 mm grenade launcher.

Here is the bigger brother, Heckler & Koch GMG.

I think these are APILAS (Armor-Piercing Infantry Light Arm System) from France.
