POTD: Special Forces in Advanced Snowmobile Course

    Advanced Snowmobile Course

Freezing cold or a hot desert? Where would you rather spend your time? As a member of the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) you may not always have a choice, but being able to transport yourself with the help of a snowmobile helps if all you see is snow.

The Advanced Snowmobile Course teaches snowmobile techniques so that the soldiers can navigate in the intense, snowy terrain. I suspect there is very little snow in their HQ in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Practice makes perfect. Proper aim, steady breathing. An integral part of the Advanced Snowmobile Course is teaching students how to operate with proper combat tactics in a winter environment.

One team, one fight. Constructing a well-positioned patrol base and fighting positions within ensures mission success in a winter environment.

How fast does this thing go? A well-trained snowmobiler requires proper instruction, time, and plenty of practice. If you ever got stuck with a snowmobile you know exactly what I mean.

There’s more action here: Swedish Arctic Rangers fighting from snowmobiles and Arctic Warfare Training with Korps Mariniers. The Russians use other methods: Russian AKs, Huskies & Reindeer.
