Davidson's Exclusive 1911 with Colt and Baron Engraving
The venerable 1911 – you’d be hard-pressed to find a shooter who isn’t at least broadly familiar with this classic design. Through 75 years of military service and countless variations on John Moses Browning’s original model, some have hated it and many have loved it. As it has aged, the 1911 has come to spark some division among gun tribes between its impassioned adherents and modernists who believe it has outlived usefulness in this day and age.
Nevertheless, despite the detractors new takes on the 1911 continue to be released and sold – from affordable and mild to pricey and wild. Today we bring you a new exclusive Davidson’s .38 Super version in either blued or stainless finish, made in partnership with Colt and flavored by Baron Engraving. Davidson’s recent press release reads:
Davidson’s Exclusive Colt 1911 Classic Series Models
PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Davidson’s, one of the nation’s top firearms wholesalers, has created two new Exclusives in conjunction with Colt’s Manufacturing and Baron Engraving.
These two Colt 1911 “Heritage” 5” Government models are chambered in .38 Super and feature custom scroll engraving by Baron. These Exclusives feature gold-plating of the hammer, grip screws, mag release, and on the slide.
Two finishes are offered – both blued and stainless steel. Both models have fixed GI style sights, double diamond wood grip panels and one seven-round magazine.
