Who doesn’t like Krinkovs? Especially ones made by a reputable company like the Polish Fabryka Broni “Łucznik” – Radom. At SHOT Show 2020, Arms of America announced that they will start importing FB Radom Mini Beryl pistols chambered in .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm NATO and .22LR. Let’s take a closer look.
Mini Beryl 5.56/223
This Mini Beryl pistol is chambered in .223 Remington and comes with a 30-round magazine. It has a 9.25″ barrel with a 1:9 twist rate. It also comes with a muzzle booster/flash hider combination device, top Picatinny rail, and a sling swivel at the rear of the receiver. Well, obviously, it’d be better to have a Picatinny rail section on the rear trunnion or a provision to mount an AR buffer tube to brace or SBR the gun. I had a chance to examine these pistols at the SHOT Show booth of Arms of America. The fit and finish are perfect as expected. The only thing that I didn’t quite like about this gun is the excessively elevated top Picatinny rail.
The MSRP of the Mini Beryl in .223/5.56 will be around $1,150.
Mini Beryl .22LR
Now, this is even more interesting to me than the 5.56 because factory-made 22LR AKs are not that common. Despite sharing an overall layout and a lot of parts with the previous gun, this is, of course, a direct blowback firearm. The barrel length of this rimfire pistol is 10.5″ and the overall length is 18.5″. It comes with its own proprietary 20-round .22 LR magazine. The magazine firmly locks into the gun and the overall geometry of the follower and feed lips, as well as their position in relation to the bolt face and chamber, look to be well thought out. So, hopefully, this will be a reliable rimfire AK.
The price of this .22LR Mini Beryl is yet to be determined. Stay tuned to learn about the availability of these pistols.
