POTD: Minigun Monday IV

Monday again – and a great way of starting the week with some Minigun shooting.

A month has passed since we started, and this is the fourth edition of the “Photo Of The Day: Minigun Monday”, the time and place where we go wild about pictures of Miniguns in various places.

Above you can see a U.S. Marine engaging a simulated enemy boat in the Pacific Ocean with a GAU-17 Minigun.

The rotor is a Bell UH-1Y Venom and all pictures are taken by U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jason Monty.

Below: Now over to some non-Gatling guns, the FN Herstal GAU-21.

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Morgan McDowell, a UH-1Y Venom crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), fires a GAU-21 .50 caliber machine gun at a simulated enemy boat. The Marines and Sailors of the 11th MEU are conducting routine operations as part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group in the eastern Pacific Ocean. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. U.S. Navy Master Chief Cory Bryan fires a GAU-21 .50 caliber machine gun from a UH-1Y Venom with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) during a live-fire training exercise. The Marines and Sailors of the 11th MEU are conducting routine operations as part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Below: Notice the GAU-21 in the mirror.

I wonder which one is the most fun to fire?

The GAU-21 .50 Cal or the GAU-17 Minigun? If you know – please let us know in the comments.
