Kimber has announced that they are finally shipping some of their newest variations of 1911 models in the KHX and Aegis Elite in both Optics Installed (OI) and Optics Ready (OR) offerings. These models were introduced in late 2018 and early 2019, but most of the general public got their first eyes on them from SHOT Show 2019. According to Kimber, their quality control has finally flipped the green light to let shooters begin fondling these masterpieces.
Testing is Complete – While you’ve been waiting, we’ve been upgrading and testing. First we upgraded our design to accept a new optics plate with a recoil lug. Then we completed testing to our exacting standards featuring our new design. This process has taken longer than anticipated and we apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate your business and thank you for your patience. All KHX guns have shipped. Aegis Elite guns have begun shipping and will be finished shipping within three weeks.
While it is awesome to see manufacturers like Kimber constantly tweaking and creating new firearms for us to drool over it is often a slow, but methodical process before they actually hit the market. That is why it is equally great to hear something is finally shipping let alone a new product being announced. The MSRPs consumers can expect for these new pistols are as follows:
- KHX Custom/RL (OI): 9mm – $1,967 | 10mm – $1,967 | .45 ACP – $1,946
- KHX Custom (OI): 9mm – $1,871 | 10mm – $1,871 | .45 ACP – $1,851
- KHX Custom (OR): 9mm – $1,108 | .45 ACP – $1,087
- KHX Pro (OR): 9mm – $1,108 | .45 ACP – $1,087
- Aegis Elite Custom (OI): 9mm – $1,415 | .45 ACP – $1,395
- Aegis Elite Pro (OI): 9mm – $1,415 | .45 ACP – $1,395
With these new Aegis Elite and KHX models in Optics Ready (OR) or Optics Installed (OI) editions, Kimber has kicked up the curb appeal and functionality to a whole new level.
