It seems like every year there is a new hip bandwagon of color, accessorizing, or even a certain caliber that gun lovers all need to jump over. In prior years it was everything FDE (Flat Dark Earth) or zombies or the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge which is still riding high. Well, this year it might be the patriotic year of the American flag. Keeping in line with that fad Ruger released a NEW Flag Series of firearms that has the US flag emblazoned on them.

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is pleased to announce its new Flag Series line of firearms. Arriving just in time to celebrate the independence of our nation, these attractive firearms boast painted flag Cerakote® and flag camo dipped finishes.

The first four offerings in this new series feature attractive American Flag finishes and are built on the following platforms: AR-556® MPR, Ruger Precision® Rimfire and PC Carbine™ rifles, as well as the AR-556 Pistol. Additional distributor exclusive models featuring state flag Cerakote finishes are also available. These models include the SR22® pistol with North Carolina state flag Cerakote finish, SR22 pistol with Arizona state flag Cerakote finish and Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor with a Texas state flag camo dip.

These new firearms debuted at the beginning of July so shooters could adequately drool over them leading into Independence Day. The available offerings hit upon some of Ruger’s most popular firearm models so anyone who is riding that patriotic wave could keep the good times flowing with a new Ruger. The specific models and their associated price-points can be read below:

With so many wild and unique Cerakote color options out on the market today it is interesting to see the industry swing towards the good ol’ red, white, and blue. Some final words from Shawn Leska, Ruger’s Vice President of Sales, might sway some people’s pocketbooks if they have not already decided on getting one of their new offerings in the Flag Series:

We are very excited about the introduction of the Flag Series. This new lineup of firearms is our most patriotic yet and we hope our customers will feel a sense of pride owning a pistol or rifle from this American-made series.

For all of our patriots reading this article, what do you think of Ruger’s NEW Flag Series of firearms? Are you more akin to the predictable, but classy color of black? Or are you feeling these new color schemes? Let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
