Hi-Point Want You to NAME THE NINE
You’ll remember back at SHOT Show earlier this year, one of the products to cause the most hype was Hi-Point’s new tactical 9x19mm. We’ve honestly never seen James so excited about something non-Glock or short shorts related. In our SHOT Show write up on the new pistol we called it the ‘New C9’, for simplicity’s sake, but that isn’t the gun’s name and Hi-Point need your help to pick a cool new designation for the pistol before it begins shipping later this year.
Hi-Point began teasing the competition on their social media a day ago and sparked enough interest for people to start calling the factory direct before the competition had even begun! Pick a cool enough name and the prize is your very own pistol with personalised serial number and a few boxes of ammo thrown in.
Here’s how you can suggest a name for the new Hi-Point 9mm:

There is internet angst that the fan favorite entry YC9 (for Yeet Cannon 9) did not make the finalist list. Heckler & Koch‘s Social Media Girl SMG) endorses Yeet Cannon 9 and even says
"Please take some advice from someone who doesn’t listen to their customers, you really really should. Swallow your pride, get out your crayons, and write a letter to your legions of almost new customers and call it the YC-9. We promise to do a collaborative photoshoot with you. We will bring a MK23 specially marked YC-45. This is not a joke. The powers of 2 Yeet Cannons, the original and the little brother, would be unstoppable."

There is also a petition on change.org to get Hi-Point to name the pistol YC9 anyway.
