Nighthawk Custom’s slogan is “One Gun, One Gunsmith,” which they claim is the direct result of how they build their guns.

The company was founded in 2004 by a group of four individuals with a passion for the 1911 platform.

They have now expanded into approximately 65 full-time employees, and their selection and assortment of 1911s and other firearms (and knives) has also grown. They are Headquartered in Berryville, Arkansas.

The company is starting 2019 with a bang, releasing on of their most exclusive models ever.

For instance the grips are made out of giraffe’s bones and the front sight is a 14k Gold Bead!

The Nighthawk VIP Black. Hand built and engraved for those who appreciate a tasteful amount of hand engraving, coupled with a black diamond like coating and Nighthawk’s high-quality build and service prep. A presentation grade work of art that has a durable finish that can be carried and used daily. As one of our most exclusive models, the VIP Black is built as a true heirloom piece. This pistol is crafted with all the finest customizations, including a DLC finish, and full hand engraving done by master engraver Bertram Edmonston. The VIP is also equipped with a 14k solid gold bead front sight and giraffe bone grips. To complete this truly elite package, the VIP comes in a custom walnut hardwood presentation case.

All parts used in the pistols are fully machined from bar stock steel. This is the FM, Fully Machined Series of parts. Each part used is oversized and must be fit to each gun by hand – there are no drop-in, cast, or MIM parts used in the work we do.

Once a pistol is built, the builder test fires the pistol to insure that it exceeds both The Nighthawk Standard, and his own. He then uses a metal stamp to imprint his initials under the left grip panel. While this is not the fastest, most efficient, or most cost-effective way to build a firearm, this shows the highest level of ownership, and it signifies the pride and commitment our gunsmiths take in the work they do.
