POTD: Full H&K Glory With A Chrome P7 And Rail

by Pete

TFB Reader (and hopefully fan) ‘Valorius’ sent us this stunning picture of his custom H&K chrome P7 with rail. With a hard chrome finish by Customized Creationz and a one-of-a-kind accessory rail, this pistol is about as sexy as it gets. Nil wood grips finish off the build nicely.

I, like every other die hard Die Hard fan, have wanted to own a bead blasted P7 with a threaded barrel and a kurz silencer formerly issued to a member of the Volksfrei Movement. Unfortunately, prices have skyrocketed for the out of production pistol.

Let’s see your P7s! Submit your Photo Of The Day here or just send me an email with an image and some information. I’ll post up the best examples sometime next week.

Heckler & Koch chrome P7 -Wikipedia

The P7 is a German 9×19mm semi-automatic pistol designed by Helmut Weldle and produced by Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K) of Oberndorf am Neckar. It was revealed to the public for the first time in 1976 as the PSP (Polizei-Selbstlade-Pistole—”police self-loading pistol”)

Series production of the P7 started in 1979. Shortly after, the pistol was adopted by the German Federal Police’s counter-terrorism unit ( GSG 9) and the German Army’s special forces formations. The P7 was produced primarily by H&K but also under license by the Greek defense firm Hellenic Arms Industry as well as in Mexico by the Departamento de Industria Militar (DIM), as a sidearm for general officers and staff. The pistol was also exported to several countries.

Classic firearms should never be chrome plated or worse yet, have a rail. that is an abomination. What next, a Luger with a rail? It's bad enough when they put them on 1911's.

If you really must have a gun with a rail, get a Glock.

A totally over-rated pistol. The P7 is such a great design that H&K are still making them....right? Nope.
Fire a full IDPA course or an IPSC course and this gas operated pistol becomes so hot that you cannot continue. H&K abandoned this design & the way better P9S for a very good reason. While S&W totally abandoned their 3rd generation line of pistols and adopted JMBrownings 1910 design, just about every other gun maker has 1911's in their corral,
H&K P7's & P8's: expensive to buy, magazines cost more than $100.00, and just about every Glock, Beretta, & 1911 are still in production.
