New 300 Norma Magnum Loads from ABM
Applied Ballistics Munitions, aka ABM Ammo, is now offering a pair of loads for the 300 Norma Magnum in its Mission Ready line. Both of these loads are designed for predictable accuracy beyond one mile and stay supersonic to 1,500 yards at sea level. Both loads use Berger Hybrid Target bullets, bullets designed with a high BC and long range accuracy in mind.
The first load uses a 215 grain Berger bullet that is loaded to a muzzle velocity of 3,017 fps (more than 4,300 ft-lbs of energy.) The bullet has a listed G1 BC of 0.691 and a G7 BC of 0.354.
The second round is loaded with a 230 grain Berger bullet. It is loaded to 2,934 fps with a muzzle energy listed as being nearly 4,400 ft-lbs of energy. Both loads were measured from a 26″ barrel. This bullet has a given G1 BC of 0.717 and a G7 BC as 0.368.
Both of these products are offered in 20 round boxes. Each box has a suggested retail price of $85.40 and show in stock. Quantity purchasing (50+ boxes) drops the MSRP to $81.13.
ABM Ammo is careful to note that these rounds have an overall length that exceeds the SAAMI specification. Therefore, the rounds may not feed through SAAMI spec magazines. The COAL for the 230 grain round is listed as 3.554″, so make sure your rifle can handle these before dropping the cash.

Been watching this since it posted. When I got back from a hunting trip this morning, I was wondering if anyone had commented on it. Guess there aren't many that are interested in the G1 and G7 ballistics coefficient models which are hot items on long range blogs that I participate in on other sites. Couldn't in good conscience let an interesting article go without comment.
(Bet if you had compared this rounds effectiveness to the 5.56 or 7.62X39, you would have generated a bunch of comments)......
(Sarcasm) :)
Scratch the comments, found another article from before I started following TFB that generated 99 comments and found that there were some that were interested in at least some of the aspects of long range shooting......
Whats its G7 form factor?
