New Recoil Reducing Muzzle Brake from ZRODelta

    ZRODelta CIB

ZRODelta announced the company was now offering an updated Cowl Induction Brake that is said to reduce recoil by up to 72%. This is an improvement of about 10% compared to the first generation brake. Additionally, the Gen2 Cowl Induction Brake is lighter and smaller than the original brake. They weigh about a third of a pound and are less than 3″ in length.

This brake is available in three sizes: one for .223/5.56, one for 6.5mm and the third for .30 caliber. According to the company, all three models are less than 1″ in diameter to be compliant with three gun competition rules. It is a tapered design moving from 0.88″ at the thread end to 0.99″ at the muzzle end.

The company designed the brake with horizontal cuts on the sides to reduce the amount of debris blown up from shooting near the ground. The company states that shims are included with the brake, and flats on the brake allow for its installation with standard wrenches. The brake does require a shoulder on the barrel behind the threads to time correctly.

ZRODelta makes these brakes of 4140 steel at their Lubbock, TX manufacturing plant. They are black nitride finished, but Cerakote options are available for other colors. With the plain nitride finish, the suggested retail price is $199.
