During the SHOT Show 2018, Charles Daly has introduced new pump action shotguns called Honcho. One of these shotguns is available in 12 gauge or 20 gauge chamberings. The second one is chambered in .410 bore (see the top image) and it has a spring assisted action.

Remington always has one of the largest booths since it includes DPMS, Bushmaster, Marlin, and AAC. At SHOT Show 2018 they were showcasing their magazine fed 870 DM with a simulated shoot off competition.

Let me start off by saying that this subjective list of TFB’s ‘Top 5’ best guns from 2017 is not rooted in scientific study nor is it the result of massive data crunching of user polls. The below guns were picked by general popularity, page views, innovative designs and overall accessibility. Point being, there were a lot of awesome firearms released this year and these are only a few of them.

A joyful, happy man, Santa Claus – or Father Christmas or Saint Nicholas or Sinterklaas – delivers gifts to good boys and girls throughout the world. After working for 364 days straight, he loads up his sleigh with packages and parcels containing everything from basketballs to jewelry. In my calculations, based on intense population studies and deep scientific research, Santa’s sack could hold up to $50 trillion US dollars worth of presents. As the lone responsible person for millions of gifts as well as delivering happiness on Christmas morning, it is only natural that we consider that he needs to protect himself and his load from all sorts of danger.

At first glance, it is extremely difficult to tell the Remington 870 apart from the Mossberg 590 Shockwave. If the two were laid side-by-side on a gun bench, it would be tough to tell which is which from a distance. Their qualities and features overlap quite a bit, but IN MY OPINION, the Remington 870 TAC-14 holds the edge over the Mossberg 590 Shockwave (just slightly).

With the NRA Annual Meetings going on, all of us expect a slew of new firearms to be announced and debuted, but few people could have guessed that Remington had, for a lack of a better phrase, a “loophole firearm” up their sleeves. The announcement of a tactical Model 870 with a 14″ barrel is quite the surprise especially since it is so strikingly similar to the Mossberg 590 Shockwave which just hit the market months earlier. The new Remington 870 TAC-14 looks to make an impact within this niche category of firearms.
