Kent Cartridge is excited to announce its latest innovation for waterfowlers, Fasteel+. Building on the success of the popular Fasteel 2.0 line, Fasteel+ offers a new shotshell experience by incorporating two sizes of steel pellets in one shell. This new line is supposed to deliver exceptional patterns and unparalleled on-target lethality through the use of a layered zinc-plated steel shot load. The layered shot, consisting of larger Precision-Plated Steel Shot pellets atop smaller pellets, ensures tighter patterns and increased energy transfer to the target. With zinc-plated pellets and nickel-plated heads, Fasteel+ exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, making it an all-weather performer. Hunters should be able to expect reliable ignition and outstanding velocities, regardless of the hunting conditions.

The shotshells in the photo are early 20th century offerings from Remington. On the right edge of the photo is your standard 12 gauge. On the opposite edge is a monstrous 3 gauge shell. I can only imagine what was running through the mind of the unfortunate soul who loaded the gun with a bore large enough to chamber this beast.

The IAA forum is one of the unique places on the Internet where you can learn about rare, unusual and experimental ammunition. Recently, while browsing the forum, I came across a modern small-bore Turkish shotshell called 6mm Pipet.

Earlier we have reported that  Retay Arms Masai Mara shotgun will become available for the US market. Among a number of advertised features, there is one which is especially interesting. It is their Inertia Plus system. The name of the system itself hints that there is something more than an ordinary inertia system. Let’s see what it is about.

Kim Rhode isn’t just any Olympic shooter, she’s an Olympic shooter who has won not one, not two, but six medals, consecutively, in an individual Olympic sport. Rhode is also the first American athlete to do so. CCI, popular manufacturer of high performance rimfire rounds, announced a new product line of centerfire handgun shotshells called the Big Four. As the name Big Four suggests, these are loaded with #4 shot.

Adaptive Tactical is in the process of launching a series of shotshell storage accessories. The company opened the line with the new Receiver Mounted Shell Carrier.

I had not originally intended to post this video but after seeing it begin to make a semi-regular appearance on social media, I changed my mind. Its appearance was accompanied with the words “Gotta get me some of these!” rather frequently, a statement withdrawn on more than one occasion after the original poster actually viewed the video. So what is making the rounds on social media in the gun world now? It’s the Juicer, and it’s a shotgun slug courtesy of none other than Taofledermaus.

I cannot help but occasionally cruise Taofledermaus’ YouTube channel ever so often, and I usually end up doing so waiting to see what shotgun load he’s come up with now. In the past they’ve varied from interesting to strange to “don’t try this at home, kids” and it’s pretty clear where this particular load falls in that spectrum. The latest shotgun load from Taofledermaus? Nails. As in, a handful of long, sharp nails, pointy side out.

Long Island Topshots posted a slow motion video. It shows what happens to a shotgun shell when fired from a shotgun without a barrel.

Environ-Metal, maker of Hevi-Shot, is now selling a 12 gauge shotshell product called Hevi-Duty.  The new line of ammo use a 2 3/4″ shell loaded with either 12 pellets of 00 buck or 30 pellets of #4 buckshot.  Muzzle velocity is measured at 1250 fps in both loads.
